Greetings EMS families,

As Principal of T. J. Elder Middle School, I would like to welcome you to another extraordinary year of excellence in and out of the classroom.  I am excited about the opportunity to lead a school with such an outstanding reputation for academic, athletic, and artistic success.  It’s certainly my goal to not only build on the many wonderful things happening daily at our school, but to also ignite EMS to become the best middle school in Georgia.

The staff and I are dedicated to making every student’s experience at EMS engaging, inspiring and challenging!  In addition, we can only accomplish this by ensuring that our students function in a safe, innovative, and fun environment which creates motivated 21st century learners.  Our students are encouraged to get involved in the variety of extracurricular activities that we offer, which are all outstanding and provide avenues for the wide ranging interests of all students in the 3-A’s (Academics, Arts and Athletics).

Our stakeholder groups, consisting of students, staff, parents and community/business partners in the Washington County area, are critical to the success of Elder Middle School.  There are many opportunities for parents and community members to share their time, talent, or treasure at EMS.  To start, our PTSOS is a vital part of our school and works collaboratively to support the programs we have at EMS.  Furthermore, it is an excellent way to allow parents the opportunity to get involved in the goal of our school-Igniting Success for All. I encourage you to contact the school to discuss the various ways you can invest in your child’s education at EMS.

I want to thank you for allowing the faculty and staff of Elder Middle School the opportunity to provide the best education possible for your child.   I look forward to partnering with students and families to continue the legacy of excellence that is, and will continue to be synonymous with Elder Middle School.
